Welcome to MetaGhana (Ghana Portal). Ghana Portal presents information from diverse sources in a unified way. Apart from the standard search engine feature, Ghana Portal offer other services such as news, sports, information, databases and entertainment. Ghana Portal provide a way for enterprises to provide a consistent look and feel with access control and procedures for multiple applications and databases.

What is Ghana Portal?

Ghana Portal is the next-gen Ghanaian portal that will typically provide personalized capabilities to its visitors, providing a pathway to other content. Development is currently ongoing and the alpha edition is expected to be live online by February 31, 2010. The project is led by Michael Kwayisi and the site is supposed to be Ghana's version of Yahoo! or MSN.

How it will work

Ghana Portal is designed to use distributed applications, different numbers and types of middleware and hardware to provide services from a number of different sources. A further business-driven goal of Ghana Portal is that the content be able to work on multiple platforms such as personal computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and cell/mobile phones. Information, news, and updates are examples of content that will be delivered through Ghana Portal.

Funding & Sponsorship

PJT-909 Corporation, the development company of this project has received generous funds and sponsorships from businesses and individuals (some in Ghana and others in foreign territories) to carry out research and other stuff.
